Speaking of the future development trend of the industry, Wang Lianzhen, the general manager of China's single-sales and marketing department of Germany's Gaobao Company, believes that the industry will present three major characteristics in the future. The unit mode will be more refined, digital and environmental protection will continue to be the mainstream, and the packaging industry will Experience structural and regional transfer adjustments.
Trend 1: The unit mode will be more refined in the future
A Swiss tobacco company recently installed a sheet-fed offset press of 35 meters and 19 units made by KBA. The machine consists of 3 coaters, 4 drying units, 10 printing units, 2 A unit with inert UV curing technology, even with on-line cold foil finishing capabilities.
Speaking of the application, Gao Han, CEO of Greater China, said that this is a completely customized device based on the customer's product type. In the past, 3 or 4 different process equipments could be made. Through the multi-unit sheetfed offset press platform that combines various processes, one-time production can be completed on one device. Moreover, the delivery time of such a machine is also long. According to reports, the process of understanding the customer's needs in the early stage of the solution takes several months. Yan Han revealed that the 19-unit offset press was actually delivered by two delivery methods. The first time, 17 units were delivered. After the installation, two additional units were added.
The presses of 19 units are not available to every supplier, nor do each printing company have the ability to meet the throughput of 19 units. Therefore, having a multi-unit printing press is a symbol of the strength of the printing company and also a device manufacturer. The performance of the ability, however this does not represent the market must. Yan Han said that the number of printer units is not equal to the technical level of a region's industry, which is just a performance of customer demand. Although multi-unit equipment has better performance in terms of production efficiency, registration accuracy and color reproduction compared with multiple equipments, the multi-units with multiple functions are good, and the most demanding according to the needs of enterprises The right equipment is the key.
According to Wang Lianzhen, as a leader in the field of large-format offset printing presses, KBA’s participation in this exhibition will be limited to the exhibition area and installed time. The user focused on displaying its latest KBA Rapida 145 large-format offset press, and currently KBA’s largest number of units in domestic customers has 6+6 total 12 units, and 8 colors plus 9 units. There are more and more applications in China.
In addition, the broader applicability and flexibility of a single functional device is equally important to the customer. Thin paper thick paper can be printed, such equipment is more suitable for future business needs, both for business printing and packaging business. If you can only print thin paper or only thick paper, it is very worrying for customers. However, on the basis of wide printability, it is also necessary to focus on the configuration according to the business focus.
Trend 2: Digitalization and environmental protection are still the mainstream
In the past, when people talked about digital printing, perhaps the inherent thinking in the mind would be small equipment or a slightly larger equipment. Now with the intervention of traditional printing machine manufacturers, with the continuous deepening of digital printing applications and research and development, this situation is also Change with it. Digital printing has also begun to penetrate into the fields of publishing and packaging.
KBA, which has long-term experience in the manufacture of rotary machines, launched a web digital press last year at Drupa. This digital press was launched in Drupa and followed Henry Innovation in Switzerland in February. After the innovation of the day, after continuous improvement, the printing quality has made great progress. The subsequent processing is also different from the general digital printing machine, with special equipment. Of course, although they are all produced on demand, due to their high-speed characteristics, the printing volume is not enough for general printing companies. There may be tens of thousands of jobs on a production line, but the single quantity of each job is not Big. Small print shops are not suitable, and large publishers can consider purchasing.
In terms of traditional printing digitalization, Yan Han believes that at this exhibition, Gaobao will launch a completely open process system, which will be based on equipment and adopt modular design, which can directly front-end CTP computer plate making equipment. After the post-press equipment is connected, it can even become an ERP system managed by the enterprise. Most importantly, the system is open to all brands of presses.
However, Wang Lianzhen believes that to distinguish the personalized printing and digital printing of the fast printing shop, for large digital printing machines, the high investment threshold is also an important factor limiting the expansion of digital printing machines. The threshold of the dollar is not something that every company can take.
In addition to digital solutions, the green concept will remain an important theme of the show. According to reports, the Rapide 145 sheetfed offset press, which was launched at the show, will be equipped with the latest environmental solutions, which will reduce energy consumption by nearly 50%. In addition, the buyers of the Rapida 105 equipment displayed at the exhibition will replace the rubber roller after the installation of the equipment for environmentally friendly waterless printing.
Trend 3: The packaging industry will undergo structural and regional transfer adjustments
After the global financial crisis broke out in 2008, China's packaging export market also suffered a certain impact. However, with the introduction of effective government measures, domestic demand is gradually pulling, and domestic demand packaging products are increasing. Wang Lianjun explained that this is the transformation of the industrial area brought about by the transformation of product structure. In the Pearl River Delta region and the Yangtze River Delta region where the printing and packaging industry was relatively developed, the development tends to be flat or landed, and the purchase demand is transferred to the inland. “We found in the actual market work that the packaging printing demand and production level in the inland areas are gradually increasing. Both the packaging quality and the specifications of the printing press are much higher than before.” Wang Lianzhen, for example, said that in the northwest four or five years ago. It is hard to imagine the purchase of a large 4 1UV large press in the region, but now large-scale presses such as 5 1 , 6 1, and even 7 1 are being installed more and more in these areas.
With the changes in the domestic demand environment, the packaging market has great potential. However, in which direction to develop, it is still unknown. Wang Lianzhen explained that there are many kinds of packaging, such as wine bags, cigarette packets, and ordinary food packaging. The packaging materials and shapes of different products are very different. Due to the continuous introduction of the country's over-packaging policy, many over-packaged goods have been restricted. On the contrary, the demand for medium- and low-end goods packaging is rising. Wang Lianzhen believes that from the overall demand of the packaging industry, it is still growing, but it is only a trade-off between different commodities.
In addition, while manufacturers are paying attention to order volume and efficiency, the industry has shown a trend of increasing corporate focus on social responsibility. “The printing industry is an old industry, and we are full of emotions in the industry. We are doing a lot of work and hope that everyone understands the importance of the printing industry for everyone, and the future is the same.”
